This morning the teacher Artemidorus pressed a scroll into Julius Caesar's hand outside the meeting of the Senate. In it were the names of the men who meant to kill him. Caesar put it aside. An hour later he was dead.
You are Artemidorus' scribes, and you have the copy. Now you have to get out of the city before the conspirators find you: from the place where it happened, through the theatre quarter and across the river's oldest bridge to the sacred island, where nobody may be touched.
The Rome of 44 BC lies several metres below the street. At every stop you have to find something that stands there today – an inscription, a fountain, three columns. Each stop gives a letter, and in the end the name at the top of the list.
The scribes and the escape are made up. Artemidorus, the scroll, the murder and the places are real.
Godt at vide
Walk it in daylight – the puzzles are read off ruins, façades and inscriptions. Cobbles all the way, almost completely flat. Bring two phones if you can: stop 3 is split in two.
