From Tromsø the ships set out for Svalbard and the polar ice. The polar heroes signed on their crews here, and here they returned – those who returned.
The tour follows the harbour through the centre. You have to look at a weapon in bronze, feel the wall of a church and read a plinth.
Bra att veta
The whole route is outdoors. In winter it is dark for much of the day and icy – wear ice grips. In summer it is light all night.
