Witches, a fortress and a totem pole

Out along the Nordnes peninsula – to a memorial stone, a gift from America and the view across the fjord.

Nordnes is the peninsula that juts into the fjord west of the harbour. Sailors and workers lived here in small wooden houses, and at the far end lay the place of execution, the fortress and finally the park. The tour runs from Klosteret out to the point. It suits families well and ends by the sea, where you can swim in summer.

Good to know

The tour follows quiet streets and a park and can be walked at any time. There are a few hills at the start. The aquarium and the sea baths are by the last stop, if you want to make more of the day.
