From Bebelplatz to Alexanderplatz you walk through three Berlins at once: that of the Prussian kings, that of the Nazis and that of East Germany. Each has left behind something you can see, count or read. The tour is short and flat and works well for families. You just need to look closely – at the ground, up at the facades and around a fountain.

Good to know

The memorial on Bebelplatz is best seen in daylight or after dark, when it is lit from below; in strong sunlight the glass can reflect. The Neue Wache is usually open in the daytime, but the figure can also be seen through the gate. Flat all the way.
