Grandma Ingeborg was a conservator with the royal collections for forty years. Her will has one sentence for you: "I borrowed the king's seal in 1975 and hid it where it belongs. Find it and hand it back, so I can rest." Beside it lay six notes. The trail crosses Slotsholmen, where Christian IV built everything a navy needs: beer, cannon, bread and prayer. At every stop you have to find something Grandma saw – a number on a gate, a year on a plinth, a name in bronze. Each note gives a letter, and in the end the word that shows where the ring is. Grandma Ingeborg and the ring are made up. The buildings, the statues and the story of the king's harbour are real.

Good to know

Walk it in daylight – the puzzles are read off gates, plinths and façades. The Library Garden closes in the evening. Flat all the way, with some cobbles.
