Last night the Oslo police received an unsigned letter: "Tonight I take what the king left behind. Regards, the Heir." That is all they know. You are the investigators who get the case.
The trail runs through four hundred years of the city's history: from the square where Christian IV pointed out the new town, up to the fortress where the master thief Ole Høiland sat in chains, along the harbour past the City Hall and all the way out to Tjuvholmen. At every stop the Heir has left a message – and a letter. In the end you have to put them together.
The Heir and the heist are made up. Ole Høiland, the fortress and everything you see and count along the way are real.
Good to know
The fortress grounds are closed at night – walk it in daylight, because several puzzles have to be read off buildings and sculptures. There are cobbles and a slope up to the castle. Bring two phones if you can: the witnesses at stop 2 give their statements separately.
