Karl Johans gate is Norway's parade street, and almost everything that shaped the country happened along this one street. The cathedral, the Parliament, the university, the National Theatre and the Royal Palace line up one after the other. You start at the central station and work your way uphill, stop by stop. Every puzzle is solved with what is right in front of you – statues, facades and details most people hurry past.
