Gamla stan is Stockholm's medieval town, built on a small island between Lake Mälaren and the Baltic. Here stand the palace, the great church and the square where a Danish king had Sweden's nobility executed in 1520. The route winds through the alleys from the palace to the city's narrowest street. Along the way you meet a dragon, a boy who looks at the moon and the traces of the bloodbath that created modern Sweden.
