Trondheim was founded in 997 and was Norway's first capital. Pilgrims from all over Europe made their way here in the Middle Ages.
The tour runs from the main square via Nidaros Cathedral to Bakklandet. You have to read a statue, count rows of saints and work out what a rail in the ground is for.
Good to know
The whole route is outdoors and can be walked at any time. Flat until the last stop, which is on a steep hill. Cobbles in Bakklandet.
