In 1857 Emperor Franz Joseph had the city wall pulled down and built a grand boulevard in its place. Along the Ringstraße the opera, the museums, the parliament and the city hall lie like pearls on a string.
The tour follows the Ring from the opera to the city hall. You have to count horses, riders and towers, and find a musical sign in a lawn.
Good to know
The whole route is outdoors along the Ringstraße and through a park. The Burggarten closes in the evening. The treble clef in flowers is best seen from spring to autumn. Flat.
