How the scavenger hunt in Oslo works
The scavenger hunt is a ready-made trail through Oslo. Your phone shows the way to the next stop and uses GPS to check that you have arrived. A puzzle waits there that can only be solved by looking at the place itself – a year on a façade, a figure on a statue or a word in an inscription.
There is nothing to print, no equipment to collect and no time to agree with anyone. One purchase of €3 covers the whole team, and everyone can follow along on their own phone with the same team code. The clock only starts when you press start.
Right now there are 4 adventures in Oslo. They take from about 60 to 90 minutes, and the trails are from 0.9 to 2.3 km.
Questions and answers
- Is the scavenger hunt suitable for children?
- Yes, together with adults. Each adventure shows its difficulty, distance and number of stops, so you can pick a trail that suits the youngest on the team. If you get stuck, every puzzle has hints.
- Can we use it for a birthday or a hen or stag party?
- Yes. Split the group into teams and buy one adventure per team. The teams can start together, and the times go on the leaderboard, so it is easy to name a winner.
- What do we need to play?
- A phone with a browser, mobile data and ideally location turned on. There is no app to download, and you do not need an account.
